Advantage of Pocket Fold Wedding Invitations

Gone are those traditional wedding invitations that when you open, all the wedding stationery usually fall out. I have noticed it on most wedding invitations that I have received lately.

Most of the wedding invitations sent to me are all in a pocket fold style. It's folded with a pocket inside where all the inserts like response card or direction card is being tucked neatly into the pockets.

With this kind of design, the inserts will not easily fall out. What is also good with pocket fold wedding invitation is that, it's lighter in weight and it looks sophisticated.

The cost of this kind of wedding invitation depends on how many pockets you want to have, type of paper being used, the simplicity or complexity of the design. But still, it's more cheaper compared to the traditional wedding invitations.

Wedding Requirements In the Philippines

When you plan to get married, there are many things that you need to prepare like wedding gowns, wedding church, wedding reception, wedding invitations and the like. However, before you plan for these things, you need to comply first the requirements needed by the church and or your local civil registrar.

So, what are the things that you need to comply before filing a marriage license? First is CENOMAR or Certificate of No Marriage. Here in the Philippines, CENOMAR was being requested since there had been several cases before that some was able to get married twice even if they are still married to someone. You can simply request CENOMAR (Singleness) through NSO or simply request it online and just pay the necessary fees.

Parental Consent is needed if either one of you is between the ages of 18 and 21. This should be submitted in writing or in a form of affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and duly signed by any authorized lawyer. However if both party ages 21 to 25 what you need to provide is a parental advice. Parental advice should also be submitted in writing accompanied with a sworn statement of the couples that such advice was sought. If your parents refuse to give you advice, this should be stated in the sworn statement. Also, if the advice is unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued until after three months following the completion of the publication of the application for the marriage license. No parental consent or parental advice needed if both parties are of legal age that is ages 26 and above.

Authenticated certificate of live birth (Birth certificate). This can be requested through NSO together with the CENOMAR.

Counseling and Family Planning Seminar. This is necessary before you can get your marriage license. Without certification that you have attended the said seminar in your municipality, your marriage license will not be issued for three months.

These are the requirements needed to be attached in your marriage license application. Please be informed that this information is just a simple guidelines and it is important that you coordinate with your local civil registrar for your proper reference before making any wedding plans.

Note: Marriage License in the Philippines is valid for 120 days from the date of issue.

Hiring a Videographer for your Wedding Videos

Hi! Haven't posted here for a while, well I got busy and as much as I want to update this blog but I can't find anytime to do it. Now, got the chance and would like to tell you guys that we got our wedding video just yesterday. But, we'll share to you our wedding video as soon hubby is available to download or copy the said video.

Anyway, our wedding videographer is already included on our wedding package where we held our wedding reception so we never hired for a videographer anymore. It already covers the dressing of the bride and groom, church ceremony until reception.

I could say that wedding is the event of a lifetime that we want to remember. Let's remember the purpose of getting a wedding videographer; it is a reminder of your wonderful day and of your friends and relatives who joined with you in the celebration. However, most often than not the cost of a professional wedding video can strain your wedding budget. So if your planning to get married and on a budget this aspect should be considered so not to ruined your wedding budget but still get a good quality of your wedding video.

On our part, since the video coverage is already included in the package we don't have to hire another wedding videographer just to make sure that we'll have a good shots of video. Honestly speaking, I am very particular with pictures and videos maybe because I am very artistic and perfectionist. So far if I would rate our wedding video from 1-10 I'll give 7-8.

If I were the wedding videographer, I would coordinate with the couple what ideas they have for their wedding video. What they want to be covered aside from the church ceremony, reception and dressing. Actually, there's so much ideas how to have a good presentation of the wedding coverage. It's just that, wedding videographer should think like a bride or think it is there own wedding for them to feel the essence of getting the video not just for the sake they need to take the video.

Upon writing this, an idea came up, I just need to think about it, study what to do and discuss this with my husband. I just hope my idea will work...I'll share it to you if it push through. See yah!!!

I’m back!!! Well, the wedding is over and now moving on our new life as a married couple. Our wedding was perfect; everything was placed in order from the church to the reception. All the guests are satisfied and happy one thing that I’ve wanted to happen. Everything runs smoothly.

We arrived to Davao last August 2, 2008. Our flight supposedly would be around 12:05 noon but due to NAIA-3’s glitches our flight was delayed for about 4 hours.

We’ve spent the rest of the week before the wedding in sending the remaining wedding invitations, attended a two day church seminar for soon-to-be married couples, finalizing the things that we need for the reception. Bought some things that we need like shoes and dress. Also, we’ve watched movies to release some pressure and stress.

Here are some of the photos from my brother-in law’s digital camera and from my brother's girlfriend who’s one of my bridesmaids. These are not yet the pictures taken by our official wedding photographers.

Wedding Video

What I’m going to share to you is not our wedding video since our wedding would still be on August 8, 2008. I’ll be posting here soon my wedding pictures as well and not just the video of my wedding.

I’ll be in Davao this afternoon until next week so basically I’ll get busy then for the wedding. Am I excited already? Well, I have mixed emotions as of this moment. Of course I am excited. I never knew someone who’ll get married that is not excited of getting married to the man they have loved. I never knew of someone who is not excited to walk down the aisle. This would be the most unforgettable moment of my life. There’s no turning back anymore!!! This is it!

Few more days to go and it's our wedding day. I haven't updated this blog since I'm too busy already. Now, to keep you posted, I would like to update you about our wedding motif.

From my four choices of colors down to two and now it’s final. Our wedding motif is Tangerine since the Coral Pink is not available in our area for renting. My first choice really is tangerine but my boyfriend’s choice was the coral pink and since it is not available so I won!!!

This is not the actual style of the gown for my bridesmaid but this is the kind of tangerine that I choose for my wedding. Actual photo will be posted here after the wedding.

Wedding Invitations Wordings

Is there a proper wedding invitation wording? Basically for some experts in invitation-making, they follow some sort of wedding invitation etiquette and proper wordings. They consider some factors like if the wedding is a non-traditional way or the traditional one. A traditional wedding invitation is more formal than the non-traditional wedding invitations and this is the part where people struggle the most.

In our case, we are the hosts of our wedding and in some ways a little confusion on whose name would come first, is it the grooms name or the bride’s name? In proper wedding etiquette as far as I have researched, it’s always the brides name comes first but that I think only applies in foreign countries where they have different culture in terms of weddings. In most cases to them, the bride or the brides parents usually pays for the wedding, thus, in their wedding invitations the name of the bride comes first or the name of the parents, depending on who are hosting the wedding.

To get some ideas on how to write our wedding invitation wording, I’ve tried to compare some old wedding invitations that we have received and we come up our wedding invitation wording after a few try of making one. This is our wedding invitation wordings;

The grooms name comes first since he’s the one paying for the wedding and of course he’ll be the head of the family so it’s proper enough that the groom should take the leadership. As for me, it depends on the couple how they would agree to who comes first and who comes last in their wedding invitations wording. For me, I find it not proper to have the brides name first in the list than the grooms’ name. That is just my opinion.

Personalized Wedding Invitations

Preparations for our wedding are almost done. We have a month now to check the things that we still need to complete. Our wedding invitations are now 80% complete. We've decided to create our own invitations for practical reasons. Ready made invitations are so expensive yet the designs won't satisfy us. We've come up of buying our own printer last June 15 with a reasonable price and I started making middle of last week and now it's almost done.

The design is so simple yet very practical. The good thing about creating your own wedding invitations is that you can tweak it the way you want it. You can make your own style based on your own idea. You can choose the materials that you want without spending too much. Your work and effort will be appreciated by others. You'll develop your talent in arts. It will open a good business for you if you're really good at it. It is much practical since you're not going to spend more. The printer would be your investment already. Your expenses only are the materials that you need to complete your invitations such as paper, ribbons, glue, tape and the like.

I'm having fun making our invitations and it feels great and I'm proud I made it alone. The picture above is our wedding invitations. By the way, I'm blogging through my cellphone.

I’ve been to Davao for a week and we’re very busy complying for the things that we need to settle there for our wedding. The date and time of our wedding has been finalized. Our wedding entourage is already complete.

However, we don’t know yet how to design our wedding invitations. I haven’t check as well how much would it cost us if we ordered. Well, for me to have at least an idea I tried to browse the net to get some info and to my surprised some are quite expensive for just an invitation. Nah! It’s really not practical to pay more than Php 10,000 for just an invitation? Ten Thousand is already expensive actually and I don’t think it is wise to spend that much for just an invitation.

For me, spending more with your wedding invitation is not necessary. Your guests wouldn’t remember you anyways because of your expensive wedding invitations. What I want to say is that, you can come up with an idea how you would like your invitations to look like that would introduce a unique ambiance to your guests. Something that is unique yet less expensive. Now, I’m still considering creating my own wedding invitations. I think it’s time for me to use my talent in making art crafts for my wedding.

By the way, my boyfriend introduces this site to me. The blogger is also a fellow brother in our church from Leyte who designed his own wedding invitations. Honesty, I like his idea of making it simple yet unique and less expensive. Though it’s not the usual wedding invitation but still it is the couple who would decide how they want their invitation would look like. For me, it is not necessary to follow the traditional wedding invitations since there's no restrictions if you want it to be unique and simple. What matters is that the couple remembers you to be with them on their wedding day and that makes you special for them to invite you. Make sense? *wink!!(“,)

Wedding checklist is always necessary for you to keep track of your wedding most especially if you’re the one personally preparing for it. All the things should be accounted and should be carefully checked every now and then so not to miss something.

Before thinking of your wedding gown, process first the primary things that you need for your wedding. What are those? Your Authenticated Birth Certificate from NSO, make sure that you and your partner have it and if still you don’t have the authenticated one then request for it as early as possible. CENOMAR or the Certificate of No Marriage, with this there’s an expiration I think, so if ever you’re going to request for this make sure that it is still valid by the time your wedding comes. You can now file for your Marriage License if you have these two certifications but make sure as well that your wedding date won’t take more than a hundred and twenty days or else your License will expire. For those who need parental consent, other requirement may be needed so you need to comply for it as well.

Traditionally here in the Philippines in a wedding, the groom will shoulder for the expenses (sometimes the bride and groom shares for the expenses) but it doesn’t mean that the bride will just sit down and wait for everything to be done. Brides are usually the most stressed during the preparations because of lots of things to consider. And even if the groom pays for the expenses, the bride on the other hand budgets everything from the reception down to the smallest needs of the wedding. For those well-off families then this is not a problem with them but for those people like us then every centavo counts.

After filing for the License, come up of the things that you want for your wedding like, what theme you want for your wedding, the motif and the like. Make a list of the things that you need for your wedding like, wedding dress, grooms suit, bridesmaids and groomsmen dresses, the venue of your wedding, the reception, the invitations, giveaways, bridal car, photographer, videographer and so on. And if you think you have accomplished everything try to go over and have your beau check it so you’ll not going to missed out some other things

Also, don’t forget to make a list of the guests that you want to witness your most precious day. Invite only those people that who are just close to you and to your family, your relatives and friends. Go over each name so not to forget someone.

Wedding Updates

As part of our preparations for our upcoming wedding, I’ll be on leave by next week for five days so we could process the things that we need to comply in Davao. We both completed the certifications from our respective Locales and Districts so what we need to do now is to submit all the documents in Davao District Office so they could assign the Minister who would officiate our wedding.
Others would think what am I talking about? Well, wedding in our church is different from the traditional wedding of the Catholic Church or other religions and even if I explained it here you would still not understand so I think I need not to elaborate.

August 8, 2008 is the date of our wedding but we haven’t fixed yet the time of it since we don’t know yet the availability of the Officiating Minister but that would be for sure in the morning, and if it's possible my beau wants it to be around eight in the morning.

Sunday, 12:00 noon is our flight to Davao and we’ll stay their for a week. We still need to finalize the entourage, wedding motif, foods to serve, Church and other stuff. We’ll be back here by June 8 and I hope everything would be okay as we go back here in Manila.

We only have 2 more months to go and it seems that I still have lots of things to complete. I just hope that everything would turn out right as what I want the way my wedding would turn out to be.

CENOMAR, NSO, Marriage License and Birth Certificate

Every woman had always wanted to get married, well maybe that’s part of being a woman. My boyfriend and I had been lovers for four long years now. It started from a long distance relationship where there’s no assurance at all because of the distance. We are completely strangers to each other. But thanks to the technology that we have now, we’ve met unexpectedly. Distance wasn’t a hindrance at all.

Now, been busy preparing for our wedding. Since January this year we’ve already started planning for it. The date of our wedding would be this coming August 8, 2008. We’re both here in Manila but we’ll get married in my hometown, Davao City where my parents are currently residing.

Since we’re both on the right age, getting a marriage license is not that difficult for us. We don’t need parental consent anymore. By the way, before you could apply for a marriage license, you need to get first the CENOMAR or the Certificate of No Marriage, that’s one of the requirements now. CENOMAR can be requested through NSO but if you are both busy at work you can just easily request it online and they’ll just mail it to you in about a week. You’ll just need to pay some fees for the said certification the only thing is that it’s a little expensive than requesting it personally. You also need your Birth Certificate from NSO so you can request it as well online if you still don’t have it. Another requirement is to attend the Family Planning Seminar that is being scheduled and it depends on the municipal where you filed your license. Marriage license will be released after 10 days that is if you have attended the seminar. In our case, my bf is from Batangas and I’m from Davao. We filed our marriage license in Batangas but since the wedding will be in Davao, I used my address in Davao so we can use the license in Davao. We also attended the Family Planning Seminar that was scheduled every Thursday. It was Monday when we filed for our license so we go back Thursday to attend the seminar. The only thing that took us too long to complete all the requirements needed was the church requirements. We are both Iglesia Ni Cristo members and there are a lot of things that we need to comply. It was hard because our marriage would be in Davao but if it’s not going to be held there then there’s no additional work to be done.

Just today, we already completed the things that need to be done so we can schedule our flight now to Davao to submit to our church all the documents that we have for our wedding.

Hi guys! Welcome to my new blog!! I named it "My Desired Wedding". I've been posting some details on my up coming wedding to my other blog so I've decided to create one that would solely discuss my wedding updates, some wedding guides and other matters about weddings.
